Do you know that over 3000 Australians suffer with the insidious and fatal genetic disease cystic fibrosis (CF)?
It is unfair that CF sufferers can only expect to live to 37 years of age....that they need to take as many as 40 tablets a day.... that they can spend an average of 2.5 months in hospital per year.... and much more!
Cystic Fibrosis Queensland (CFQ) provides life enhancing support programs to more than 850 clients, their loved ones and families that help to keep clients OUT of hospital - saving the government as much as $5.5M every year......but..... they only receive 46c per client per day in support.
This September is CF awareness month in Queensland and CFQ are quite rightly asking... WHAT THE CF???
It's a little bit cheeky and a little bit risky ... but very relevant to CF. Not many people know what CF actually is and the facts need to get out there!
CFQ's What the CF? campaign was launched to spread the word about CF and to encourage those not affected by CF to stop and think about what sufferers experience.
CFQ also wants to highlight the limited government funding they receive to help sufferers. The organisation relies heavily on community support and donations!
Get involved this September by asking your friends, family and workmates, What the CF? and help us help those in the community who suffer from CF!
